Popcorn Balls
- 3/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup margarine or unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons cold water
- 2 5/8 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1 cup mini-marshmallows
- 5 quarts plain popped popcorn (in large mixing bowl)
- Combine all ingredients except the popcorn in a saucepan or double boiler over medium heat.
- Stir continually until the mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat.
- Carefully pour the mixture into the bowl of popcorn and stir gently with wooden spoon until each kernel is coated.
- Grease hands with vegetable shortening or cooking oil and shape popcorn into balls. Work quickly before the mixture cools.
- Wrap in cellophane or plastic wrap after balls cool.
- Store at room temperature.
